Astrid van de Velde is part of Cardboarders, a collective of creative and enthusiastic people that are wild about building stuff with cardboard. Happy Recycling, Collaborative Creation & Larger than Life are some of their motto's. A Cardboarders project is about improvising and creating amazing large scale cardboard objects, suits and environments together, preferably with participants to challenges like a Robot Run, Boat Race or Dance Off. All of which can end in a huge carnage of cardboard, memories of an event being the most important relics. Besides these experiences, Cardboarders also do decors for theatre or events, making objects of a more permanent character. But eh it's Cardboard, there's plenty of so let's make something new, have lots of fun & let go!
